Personal Statement

Follow my summer softball on game changer - Quakes Harrington 18u

My name is Mya Larsen.  I will be a 2024 graduate from Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, Nebraska.  I have been playing competitive softball since I was 9 years old.  I started playing softball with the North Platte Belles and then joined the Quakes when I moved to the Omaha metro area.  No matter what team I have played on, I have met my truest friends on the field and hope to continue creating those special bonds in college.  Throughout the years, my main positions have been second base and shortstop. However, I am always willing and ready to play whatever position helps the team.  During my sophomore and Junior year of high school softball for Elkhorn High, I received honorable mention from the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star, and Eastern Midland Conference. My favorite quote is “workers always win.” I believe that hard work, a positive attitude, and being a good teammate is what truly makes a great softball player.

Besides softball, I am on the varsity track team and qualified for state both my freshman and sophomore year (400 and 4x400 relay).  I am active in speech, Unified Bowling, Yearbook, and the media crew. I was named Outstanding Sophomore of the Year and have a 3.88 GPA. I would love to find a college that not only supports my athletic goals of playing at the collegiate level but also supports my academic goals of pursuing a career in Sports Marketing/videography and sports training/nutrition.
