My name is Kimberly Zapata and I am a 15-year-old sophomore in John F. Kennedy high school. Growing up as a child I've always been noticed for my athletic ability. I was probably more the center of attention just because I was a girl. A girl with an arm, they'd always say. As years gone by I've grown of course athletically but also mentally. I have always been taught to be independent and that is what makes me different in character. Although I knew I was doing good, whether it was academically or athletically, I wanted to push myself further. Bare minimum was not an option... Average was not an option. I always thought to myself why try to fit in when I was born to stand out and I live everyday of my life making myself one of a kind. If I hit well but not great I'm not living to my expectations, so I'll do whatever it takes to make me a great hitter, a faster runner and a outstanding athlete.
