Dear Coach,

Ever since I can remember, my passion and determination to succeed on and off the field has helped shape me into the resilient individual I am today. My recipe for success is to stay humble, learn from my mistakes without being discouraged, and strive to perform at the best of my ability in every endeavor. I have learned to effectively manage my time to ensure I maintain good grades. As captain of my club team, it is my job to keep my teammates positive and hyped. This has helped me fine tune my leadership qualities. The goals I establish are achieved with both hard work and resolve. I am the first one on the field and the last one off.

My “high IQ” for the game, allows me to quickly assess what is happening on the field to ensure that I am ready for any potential action. While I’ve played most infield positions, I primarily play 3rd base aggressively with a strong arm and great reflexes. I am able to determine where the ball may be hit by reading the batter based on previous at bats, the batter’s stance, and even pitches thrown. I quickly shake off any errors I make instead of dwelling on them. I am receptive to any comments or recommendations from my coach. At the plate, I use my good eye to work the pitcher to a full count when necessary.

There is always room for improvement, and I plan to attend a college or university that provides me with the tools and opportunity to stay focused and succeed in all aspects of my life. I am looking for a school and softball program that challenge me academically and allow me the opportunity to compete at the most competitive level possible. The school I seek will push me to perform to a higher level and help me develop into a better athlete. Every time I step out on the field, I constantly play my heart out with an undying love for the game. My goal is to make an impact on the team and play softball in an environment that matches my passion and pride for the game.
