Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Elyse Nardozza and I am a good candidate for your team because I am hardworking, a team player, and I love the game. I am a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, NJ and I have three varsity letters for softball. I currently play on the Ewing Edge 18u Elite team and have also played on other teams such as the Flemington Flames and Hopewell Valley Renegades. I take criticism as a way to make me a better player and person. Although winning is great, I am able to understand that we will lose some, and I encourage myself and others to pick ourselves up and come back stronger. I've dreamed of playing college softball since I was eight years old. Freshman year I was fifth in my high school softball program's fitness-core, sophomore year I was second, and I was ranked fourth this year. I have received the Player Award three years in a row, as well as the Dawg Bite two years in a row (best stats), and Iron Dawg (attended every minute of every practice and every game). This season, I made the All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State teams, got my 100th career hit, and finished 4th in the state for triples and 12th in the state for RBI's. Off season, I keep in shape by playing junior varsity basketball and see a strength and conditioning coach. Outside of sports, I practice the cello in my school's orchestra, and I am a member of the Red Cross Club, co-president of Book Club, and the Community Service Chairperson of my school's chapter of NHS. I hope to go into a field with math and science. I am unsure exactly what I would like to study, but I am interested in majoring in either Physics, Engineering, or Business Administration. The honors and AP classes I take are in english, math, and science. I hope to get the most out of the college experience by participating in a softball program and receiving an education that will benefit me.
