Personal Statement
My name is Kaitlyn Gaynor and I attend Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey. I have been playing softball all my life because I am in love with the game. I lived on softball fields due to my three older sisters playing at a competitive level. I loved what softball has taught my sisters, and what they have become. This gives me inspiration to strive for playing softball at the next level. I can’t even remember the first time I started playing softball because it was at such a young age. Including softball I also played basketball, cheerleading, and field hockey. I later had to make a decision on whether to play softball or cheerleading and of course I chose softball.
I started travel ball when I was 10 years old and started out on the Rage. I later played with the Witches for 2 years and continued onto the Villains for 1 year. Last year I played for the Philadelphia Spirit. This is my first season on the Lower South Liberty Gold and I have been pushing myself extremely hard to compete at this level. During the off season I am implementing a strength and conditioning program to overall be a better player for this upcoming summer season.
I strive to become a student-athlete at the collegiate level. My oldest sister Ashlie attended William Paterson University as well as Rowan University, majoring in education while playing softball. Keli, my second oldest, attended University of Pittsburgh on an athletic scholarship for psychology. My closest in age sister, Gen, is attending LaSalle University on an athletic and academic scholarship. She is majoring in nursing. Learning from my three oldest sisters, being the best is a trend. I want to follow in my sisters footsteps, while making my own history and legend. They always push me to do my best and I want to be just like them. I push myself very hard on and off the field and hope to one day live up to my sisters expectations, as well as mine.
I would love to be able to major in Science and become a Pharmacists. I would like to be a Pharmacists because I have always been interested in medicine and how it works and it benefits people that need help. I never tolerate laziness and I always come with an attitude to win! This applies to every aspect of my life.
