Personal Statement
My Name is Yvonne Hartridge, I am 17 years old, and this year I graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School. In my senior season, I helped lead my team to make history at my school by winning the Archdiocean and City Championship, while coming in third in New York State. Also because of my outstanding senior season, I revcieved MVP, All Bronx Team Softball Honors, and I was selected to be in the All- Star game, called the Mayors Cup. In addition to playing at my high school I also play for the Lady Pride 18u team out of Mount Kisco New York. One of my major goals is to be able to play competitive softball and to be academically sound when I go to college.
I started playing softball because of my sister Patricia Pabon. She went to college at Coppin State University, but transferred out because she finished the school academically in two years. But she then went on to play at Pine Manor college and was a three time all American their. From watching my sister play and from me having experience in this game I have learned that this is a team sport and we all have to work together. On my travel team and high school team I always try to be that person that is willing to do anything that will benefit the team positively.
