Ashley Petrone '14 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to get a well-rounded education, while emphasizing my interest in psychology, to grow as an individual both socially and intellectually, and to enjoy the full college experience. Included in what I hope to experience in college is to be part of a quality, competitive softball team. I have played competitive travel softball since the age of seven as part of the Junction Girls team, which I am still a member. I also played Little League softball, and was part of the team from Eastchester that won the NY State championship. I made the J.V team in high school as a seventh grader, and have been a varsity starter since the eighth grade. Last year, as a junior, I was the leading hitter in our League and our Section, and in the top ten in NY State. My strengths as a softball player are my ability to hit for average, my versatility and reliability in the field, my knowledge of the game and heads-up play, and my desire to be a team player. Being a good teammate is most important to me. I was honored to have been voted captain for both my softball and volleyball varsity teams. My academic achievements occurred as a result of hard work. I have perfect attendance throughout high school, and have always challenged myself by taking eight AP classes and
