Personal Statement
I started playing softball in little league when I was eleven years old which was a little late compared to my friends. I grew to love the game and started playing travel ball when I was twelve. I consider myself a very good athlete, but I knew I was behind with my softball skills. I am a competitor and will do whatever it takes to be the best I can be, especially when someone tells me I can't. Once I decided to play travel ball I worked non-stop throughout the summers and off-season to make up for the late start with the sport. I now play up in travel ball and have played varsity softball as a starter since I was in eighth grade. I proved to myself that by not only working hard but working harder than your competition can get you places you only dreamed about. I believe in hard work and making sacrifices to improve my skills and challenge myself on the softball field and in the classroom. I am currently a senior at Our Lady of Mercy high school, I transferred to Mercy to be challenged academically and athletically. I am currently looking for a college that will provide the same academic and athletic challenge as Mercy has done for me in high school. I set my goals high and I consider any bumps along the way another challenge to work harder in order to reach my goals.
