Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since the age of four and I enjoy it even more today. In 2015 I will begin my third season on the Rome Free Academy Class AA Varsity Softball team and the second year leading the team from the mound. As a Freshman I was a starter in left field and was the second string pitcher for the Black Knights under my sister who was a Senior that year. In my Sophomore year I was a starter on the mound for the team with 82 strikeouts in 86 innings pitched. This season I will be a Junior and have worked diligently in the off-season to lead the team to sectionals once again. I have been in many high pressure situations on the mound through travel ball and school ball teams. At 14 I hit a homerun at the USSSA 16U World Series in Ocean City,MD which is one of the high points in my softball experiences. Over the course of the last several months I have been determined to increase ball speed and placement and strength at the plate. I have attended a camp or clinic every month and I have been attending consistent batting and pitching practices regularly. I attended an extensive two day camp with Olympic Gold Medalist Crystl Bustos to work on bat speed, control, and pitch selection in December 2014. I play Varsity Field Hockey making the team as an 8th grader and I run on the Varsity Track and Field team. Participation in other sports has made me a faster, stronger, and more confident athlete. I am willing to work hard and accept criticism. I am a hard worker on the field and in the classroom. The best way to describe myself is determined and focused. I love the game of softball and I am working hard to continue to play the sport I love while obtaining my degree.
