Samantha Rivera '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Rivera and I am currently 16 years old. I am a student at Wallkill Senior High School and I am part of the Class of 2015. I began playing softball when I was only 4 years of age.  I am very knowledgeable about the game and I'm a fierce competitor. To be honest,  I feel I can be an asset to any team I play for.  Whether I'm on the field competing or off the field, I will make sure that I am a role model for my team and represent my school in the very best way.  I love this game.  I believe preparation is always the key to success.  That's why when I'm on the field, I'm always eager to get going, my adrenalin is building, my sweat is coming through my pours. I'm ready to play, I'm ready to help my teammates win.                                                                                                                                          The past three years of high school I have taken all advanced/honors courses, as well as various college courses. While being a student-athlete I have maintained a 4.0 g.p.a.. I am the treasurer of our Spanish Honor Society as well as a member of the National Honor Society. Schooling is very important, I am seeking schools supporting biology as a major. 

I am a two year varsity starter, sophomore year I played 2nd base while this past year I played shortstop and the outfield. This past softball season I did well, but I feel I can surpass this past season. My batting average this season was .460, I went 29 for 63 with 2 home runs and 4 doubles. I scored 15 times and had 17 RBI's. I am an extremely ambitious individual who enjoys competition.  I enjoy playing this game and I have worked extremely hard to get where I am.  I know that if I continue working hard, only great things will happen on the field and off of it.
