Personal Statement
Sports are a love of mine that I’ve always had. I’ve played softball for 8 years, while also playing varsity and club volleyball. I was also a part of a competitive swim team and played school and travel basketball for many years.
I started on my school’s varsity softball team as a freshman. I was mainly used as a utility player and I lead our team in RBI’s and home runs, while also earning All Area Honorable Mention.
My freshman, sophomore, and junior years I finished with a cumulative 4.0 GPA and was in the top 10 of my class. I also made All Academic SEOAL and OVAC in softball and volleyball. For my senior year I plan to work hard to do just as well as I did in my previous years and eventually graduate with honors.
When it comes to extracurricular activities I spent 2 years serving as class treasurer of the student council and vice-president of the Junior class. Along with President of National Honor Society my senior year. As part of the student council we help with blood drives and nursing home visitations. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is oil painting. I have been part of an Advanced Studio Art class for 6 years and would like to continue it in the future. Also for the past six years, I have been a part of and helped start a group called The BrAva Bunch. We put together bags of toys and items to take to hospitals, such as Nationwide Children’s Hospital, for kids battling cancer.
I am determined to find a college where I feel at home and not only get to play the sport I love, but also get a great education.
