Personal Statement
My name is Ella Hillier. I live in Tualatin, Oregon and am senior at Tualatin High School. To go with the busy life of your average teen-aged girl, I play competitive softball and wish to play at the collegiate level.
A short background on me and my life, I am 17 and have lived in Tualatin my whole life. I have two loving parents, and little sister who is 15, and two older half siblings. I love to travel, read, write, run, spend time with friends, and, most of all, play. The first time I picked up a softball bat was when I was 6 for my first t-ball team, and I fell in love. Three years later, I put on the catching gear, and fell in love with a whole new aspect of softball; the gear gave me confidence and gave depth to my appreciation of the sport, but also made it more serious. Academics are very important to me, and I am a Full IB Diploma candidate at my school and am in the top 10 in my class. Outside of the classroom, I am the president of Tualatin's National Honors Society, a member of NSHSS, the president of Stand Up Tualatin (a club that promotes healthy habits and seeks to end underaged drug and alcohol use by providing alternative ways to have fun and a safe environment for those making the healthier decision), and play water polo as well as softball.
I know I have the passion and dedication to play at the next level, and want to peruse the highest education I can while also doing what I love.
