Erin Meagher '16 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was eight and I played Tball when I was six and seven. It is my goal to continue playing softball during my college years. When I was young I would play third base and some short stop because I was one of the few girls that could throw the ball hard to first from those positions.I started playing travel ball in sixth grade. In my early travel ball years I would play outfield because I could throw the ball home for a play at the plate. When I got to high school there was an opening at third base and I earned the spot as the starting third basemen. In travel ball for the last few years I have played every position except pitcher, catcher, and first base. I have always been a player that would go wherever the coach would put me that would be best for the team. Last year our starting catcher graduated and this year her backup started our preseason games but my coach came to me and told me he wanted me to be our starting catcher even though I am starting at third base. All of my coaches agree that I would be a perfect fit for the catcher position because of my arm strength, hustle, and my leadership on the field. 

I have attended Catholic schools all my life and I feel that I have strong character and a high moral outlook on life. I am very interested in playing softball in college and being a strong Utility player, I feel I have much to offer a university coach and team.

I am currently in my Freshman year at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland.  I am starting to explore the idea of transferring to a school to better utilize my talents.  As I am in school please contact my Father's cell phone listed above.
