Personal Statement
What influenced me to be a better player began when I received the opportunity to play varsity my sophomore year. Having this opportunity this helped me to grow as a person through my skills and knowledge of the game. Looking back, I became interested in softball when I was 12 years old watching my neighbor practicing with her father in their backyard. They invited me to join them and her father complimented me saying I was pretty good. Her father was a coach and asked me to try out for their team. As time went on, I grew to love the sport! I have learned to challenge myself everyday and softball has taught me to do my best in every aspect of my life.
I am currently aligning myself to graduate high school with high honors by taking some Advanced Placement courses and all honors level classes. In college I am confident that I will continue to succeed academically and graduate with a degree in the public services field. I have been told by teammates and coaches that I possess strong leadership skills that help me manage my area of responsibility in the outfield. I believe that I am a highly motivated team member that helps to keep spirits high on the bench and on the field.
