Personal Statement
I have played softball as long as I can remember and I have been a part of Little League and All-Stars until 2017. Within the first couple years of playing softball I became a part of a tournament team, which I was on until 2016 then I switched to another tournament team. This experience has taught me that winning is not what is most important. My first tournament team won almost every tournament we were in, but after subbing for my other tournament team in 2015 before I switched, I learned that being part of a team that bonds and meshes together is better than being on a team that wins but doesn't click together. Softball has taught me a lot of things about myself that I wouldn't otherwise know. I have learned about patience, hard work, and determination. In high school during the 2015-2016 season, my stats weren't as good as I wanted them to be, and we didn't do well in the district playoffs as we lost in the first game, but I was determined to make it better this year and my stats improved and we made it to states this year. I finished at the top of my team for almost all of my stats.
I not only strive to do well in athletics, but I strive to do well in school as well. I go to a school that makes it tough to get on both honors and high honors which makes me work hard to try to get to the grade it needs to be. Even if I don't get on the honors list, I don't give up. I always want to do my best and keep my grades up. I had an obstacle in 9th grade that made this harder. I went through hard times that made it hard to focus on my school work, but I didn't let it stop me from trying as hard as I could. This experience also taught me that nothing can stop me if I put my mind to something. I strive to do better every year. I want to graduate college in the mathematics field with high grades. I possess a lot of skills important to school work and athletics. I always strive to do my best in the classroom and on the field. I also want to help others out as much as I can, whether someone's having trouble in class or I see someone doing something wrong in the game and I can give them pointers on it. There's nothing more important to me than my academics and softball, which makes me work harder to achieve my goals of accelerating in the classroom and on the softball field.
