Carlie Darnell '18 Recruiting Profile

I have always had a passion for sports. I strongly believe that sports are the best way to learn discipline, become a team player, and how to be mentally tough. Since a young age I have always been involved in athletics, and I have always loved being a part of a team. I am the type of person that pushes themself to be the best that I can be. This high school season I won First Team All- District Pitcher! Which was huge for me because it let me know that all of the hard work I have done didn't go un-noticed! Weather it is in sports or academics. I always give 100% in everything I do. What makes me different is that I love school, I love to learn new things and become more knowledgeable every day. I always do my work to the best of my ability, because I believe in school like I believe in sports. The more you practice the better you get, and the more you practice the more confidence you gain. Similarly, in school the more you study the more you will understand, and the more you understand the more confident you can be when testing or presenting etc. Academics have always been important to me in my high school career.  Freshman year I decided to push myself and take all Pre-Ap and AP classes. It was difficult but the end result was worth the extra time set aside for studying. I was ranked #1 in my class freshman year and half of my sophomore year! I am a firm believer that sports have helped shape me into the person I am today and hope to continue my athletic career at a University!
