2016 Highlights Personal Statement
My name is Mariah J. Sanchez. I play softball at Andress High School in El Paso, TX. My primary position is center field, but I feel confident playing any of the outfield spots. I throw with my right hand and bat from the left side. I am a versatile hitter meaning that I can slap, bunt and hit away in the situation given to me. I started for my HS Varsity team as a Freshman.
When I am not in HS season I play for the American Freedom Team based out of Las Cruces NM. Our team is scheduled for some big tournaments this coming summer (2017).
My goal is to find a school where I can continue my dream of playing college softball and finding a school that will also prepare me for medical school. My ultimate goal is to become a OB/GYN and specialize in oncology. I am a team oriented player, I am coachable and enjoy challenges. I will do anything possible to accomplish my dreams and aspirations in life.
