Personal Statement
I started playing softball when I was 7 years old, and I fell in love with the game instantly. Throughout the years of little league, I realized that I wanted more than just 2 months of softball per year. I felt like I knew there was more to softball than just tossing a ball around the field and trotting around the bases with a few people in the stands cheering. I started watching college softball games on TV, and I remember thinking to myself, "I want to be that good! I want to hit a home run over the fence, and make a diving catch in the outfield, and maybe even throw someone out at second base!" So, at 10 years old, I made a goal to play collegiate softball, and I've been working toward that goal ever since.
I've kept a 3.6 GPA or higher, and I plan to keep it that high throughout high school, and at least a 3.0 GPA through college. I intend to graduate 3rd or higher in my class and am currently ranked 2nd. I plan to major in Graphic Design because I've always wanted to put thoughts onto paper and making them visual and enjoyable.
The game of softball will help me achieve my goals later in life because it has taught me about hard work, teamwork, determination, loyalty, sacrifice, and most of all, perseverance. I've had to face both physical and mental obstacles, but I've overcome them because I didn't let them get the best of me. I used them as fuel to work harder. I know the routes to my goals have not been and will never be easy, but I'm willing to work hard to get there.
