Personal Statement
I have a goal to be awarded an athletic scholarship to a softball program at the college level. In order to put myself in a position for this scholarship opportunity, I am dedicated to not only my athletic training, but work diligently to excel in my academic studies as well. I understand the importance of education in the recruiting process and the role education plays in achieving one's goals in life.
I realize that "Right Now" are the best years for every teenager. I have unlimited opportunities and choices at my finger tips when it comes to deciding my path in life. This includes my career, college, education, hopes and dreams. I know that I am literally planting seeds for my future right now as I type this personal statement. With all these choices and opportunities in front of me, I am looking for things that will put me in a position to grow and contribute to society. While I am still narrowing down my options, I will continue to build a strong academic foundation through my remaining Jr. High and High School years.
In the end, I am aspiring to use all my gifts, talent, and abilities to bring about positive changes in all the things I do. The ultimate goal here is to be happy and have those around me share in that happiness.
Finally, here is just a quick glimpse about me. I come from a family of 6 other siblings, so obviously family is a very important aspect of who I am to this point. I have played softball since I was 6 years old in addition to soccer since I was 4. So, I have always been involved in some athletic activity from a very young age. My athletic skill set has transitioned to softball as the main focus of what I want to play in my athletic career. I am a left handed pitcher who is solid at the plate with the discipline to bat for average. In addition, I can swing for power based on what situations are presented at the plate and around the diamond. I can also play 1st Base, Center Field, and Outfield. I have played other positions as well, such as third and shortstop when needed by my team.
