November 2014Personal Statement
My name is Mallory Cherry. I am a fifteen year old sophomore. I go to school at Frank Hughes High School in Clifton, Tn. I would like to go throughout my high school years in the beta club and graduate in the top five in my class. I want to work hard and get a scholarship for playing the game I love, softball. My favorite thing about softball is the feeling you get after making a good play, or how you redeem yourself after you make a mistake. I love playing as a team, but I also like being myself. One of my goals is to graduate college with a degree that will carry me throughout life doing something I enjoy. Thank you for your consideration. :)

- Played 3 College exposure Tournaments in TN. Shortened season due to teammates involvement in basketball.
- 2014 Team Tennessee (Dixie Softball)
- We played as an All Star team from our county Dixie Softball League. We are repeat Tn. State Champs as the Wayne County Wolfpack and competed in the Dixie World Series in Louisiana for the 2nd year in a row as Team Tennessee in the 13-15 yr old age group.Dixie Softball is the organized girls fast pitch league in our area. Once you reach state and national level it is comprised mostly of travel ball players and is very competitive. During our 2 yr span, I was allowed to pitch about half the games due to league rules. Thanks to a great team behind me, I was able to post an ERA below 2 in 7 games. I am proud of our team and look forward to the 2015 season.
- 2014 Wild Thangz 16U
- Just moved up to 16U. We were competitive but grew a lot. We played 6 tournaments placing 2nd in 3. Although we didn't win we were in most games.
- 2013 Wild Thangz Softball (USSSA 14U)
- We have been a competitive USSSA Class C team for the past 3 yrs, competing in Tn. and Al. We are a small town team with a big heart and alove of the game. I have also played Dixie Softball since the age of 7. Our 13 - 15 age group won the Tn state championship this past season (2013) and participated in the Dixie World Series. we went 1 and 2. Our team lost both games by one run each. It was tough to loose but a great experience that I will never forget.

- As 13-15 Dixie Belle All-Stars from Wayne Co.(undefeated state champs), we competed in the world series. We lost the first game to FL by one run, and we won the second game against GA by 13 runs. We lost to SC our 3rd game by one run also.
