Personal Statement
My name is Cortez Sims. I am a prospective Cypress Lakes High School 2017 graduate. I have a 5.7 GPA. My 2016-2017 class rank is 164/964. I am top 25 percent of my graduating class. I have 21 ACT and 1000 SAT. I have dreamed about playing softball at the collegiate level since beginning my softball career playing 10U at West Houston Softball Association. I am highly competitive and I am looking for a highly competitive, challenging softball program. I am coachable, determined and dedicated and I easily adjust/adapt. I made varsity starting lineup my freshman year where my primary position was pitcher. I made varsity starting lineup my sophomore year where my primary position was left outfield. I made varsity starting lineup my junior year where most my time was spent in left field and third base. My high school team finished 4 out of 10 in our district this year. We made playoffs, but were eliminated first round. Many positive things happened for me my junior high school season. My batting average improved tremendously, I hit my first district game home run and my confidence soared.
For my travel team, my primary positions are outfield & third base. My high school schedule and my travel team schedules are available on my profile. I can't wait to get travel season started. I am open to all opportunities. I prefer to stay in Texas because I have taken dual credit courses that are guaranteed to be honored in Texas. Thank you for visiting my profile.
