Personal Statement
Hi!! I am Cameron Buzzell, everyone calls me Camm. First I want to thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. Since I was 7 years old I have loved every part of my softball experience, even the hard times. Looking back I can see the positive impact that even the difficult days had on my softball journey. I pride myself on always working hard on and off the field. I know that my grades come first and will enter high school with 4 high school credits and a 4.0 GPA. I plan to stay committed to my academics while continuing to put in the time and hard work into softball. My academic goal for high school is to graduate in the top 5% of my class.
I feel what sets me apart from other recruits is my work ethic and drive to always improve. I clearly understand what it takes to be a STUDENT-athlete and have learned over the past few years how to balance both commitments. Being a person who desires to excel I know that means making scarifies and I'm willing to make those. I have a personal trainer that I meet with 3 times a week, often after a 3 hour practice and in place of maybe going to hangout with friends. I know that there are a lot of girls chasing the same dream I am so I am working to get ahead by putting in the extra work. I feel that my work ethic and extra effort not only help me but my teammates. My teammates will often show up early to practice with me. I don't just want to help myself but my team. I truly believe that hard work just like a good attitude is contagious and I want to be contagious!
My dream is to attend college and to play softball at the college level. My (current) interested major is Marketing. During this year I have become very active in my school's DECA club and even attended the State DECA competition. I plan to continue to take marketing and am working towards qualifying for DECA Nationals for next year. I'm also interested in exercise science, I really look up to my trainer and how he is so invested in helping me reach my goals so that is an area I would be interested in looking more into. I like the idea of having a professional career in the future that I could use to help give back to the sport that has given me so much.
My softball team is a part of my family and when I leave home for college I want to continue with that experience. I want to join a team that I can make an impact with, that I can put in the hard work in the off season and take pride in the success in the season. I hope to find a program that has high expectations for each player and the team as a whole, a coach who demands that the team is WE before ME and a school that will provide me with a great education!
