Personal Statement
I started playing softball when I was 7 years old and instantly fell in love with the game. I have played travel softball and pitched since I was 10. I became a starting pitcher on my 12U travel team and love being in the circle. I shared the pitching spot my freshman year with an upper classman, and took over the number one spot as a sophomore. I also share the top pitching spot on my 18U travel team who are currently ranked #2 in the nation for USSSA. I love the competition between me and the hitter, and the challenge of trying to sit a batter down for my team.
I really enjoy cheering on my teammates and encouraging them when they are down.
I have had several great memories as a pitcher, but my greatest memory came as a hitter my freshman year in high school. We were playing our city rivals and I hit a walk off grand slam to place us second in our conference. I finished my freshman season leading our area batting average at .486. I was also named student athlete of the week for a local paper. I also very proud to say that I made second team all conference as a freshman.
I don't only study the game, but also study hard to keep my grades high. I made honor roll all but one time this year as a sophomore and on track to get an advanced diploma. I want to attend college to get a degree in biology. My goal is to become a biology teacher and softball coach, so I can help students just like me achieve their dreams.
