My name is Shannon Patton. I am a Senior and starting catcher at Marysville Getchell High School in Washington. I work hard in school and my GPA is a 3.789. I work well with others, and I am very teachable. In the past, I have played soccer, basketball, volleyball, track, and softball; I stopped playing the other sports competitively because I chose to pursue softball, and fully devote my time and energy towards it.
I've gone to church all my life, and have had some great experiences bringing up and teaching the younger generations through our Sunday school program. I've also been blessed to have been able to travel and live in different countries. Just last November, I got the chance to go to Malawi, Africa, and go on a mission trip for 2 weeks. It was life-changing. All these things inspired me to want to become a teacher .
After High School, I plan to go to college to play softball and to get my bachelors in elementary education, and eventually go back to school to get my Masters as well. After all this, I plan to teach in Washington for a few years, then my dream is to go and teach in the villages of Malawi for a few more years. When I'm done teaching in Africa I will come back to Washington and teach, so eventually, I can settle down close to my friends and family.
