Personal Statement

The truth is, I love the game.  The passion runs deep in my soul!  I am Rileigh Grady, a 15 year old from Vancouver/Camas in Southwest Washington.

I am dedicated, hardworking and loyal to my coaches and team.  I lead by example with character and integrity in every aspect of my life.  I have a firm understanding of the game and how it's played.  I am loud on the field, and on the bench.  I am looked upon as the leader of my teams.  I do whatever it takes to better myself as a player, friend, daughter, student and leader.  I never give up or call it quits when it gets too tough.  I keep going and fighting till the job is done.

For the 2013-2014 School year, I am a representative of my Sophomore class and President of YSPP (Youth Suicide Prevention Program).  The Leadership skills that I have now and continue to develop help me become a better person, teammate and  softball player.  Softball is apart of my heart and soul, but I also very much enjoy, leadership, volleyball, friends and my wonderful family that is always there for me at every game and is so supportive of me and my ambitions in life.

I started my career in softball at 9 years old as the starting 3rd & 1st baseman for Lacamas Little League.  As I began to grow as an individual and a player, I became a catcher for my 12U ASA Fire Fast Pitch team from 2007-2009.  I then played in every position except pitcher and SS for my 14U Gold Fire Fast Pitch team for two consecutive years.

In the 2012-2013 school year, I was a Freshman on Varsity, playing in the infield and the outfield.  I am currently the 2nd baseman with my travel team, The Oregon Titans U16 Gold Team.  My batting average was 471 my Freshman year.  I bat and throw Right handed.  I typically bat in the 3 or 4 positions and sometimes in the 7 and 8 positions.

As my career in softball progresses, I want to be the player that people remember.  I want little girls to aspire to be like me.  I want to be their role model, inspiration and an over all great player.  I am Rileigh Grady, an athlete, dedicated to the game of softball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
