Softball is my life. I live at the fields. The adrenaline rushes of driving one to the fence, and the stress of an 0-2 count. Those are the things that keep me pushing to be the best I can be.
Softball is a very important thing to me. Growing up I was constantly at the ball field. Between my brother, my dad and I all playing the game we love it seemed like I lived at the ball diamond. I started playing ball when I was about four, the game of tee ball. My family has always been supportive of my softball career, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be where I am today. My Dad has sacrificed so much for me to be able to play the game I love, and make me better. Between the many weekend camps, showcases, traveling softball and many hours of extra practice in the back yard I have continued to improved and be the best I can be thanks to my family.
Attending many practice’s and tournaments I missed a lot of social events. Missing certain events used to bother me, but now I am completely accustomed to it. I have learned that everyone has priorities; the important aspect is choosing them wisely. I stand out as a prospective athlete in this way because I put softball before my social life. I am completely dedicated to this game and put much time and effort into it.Along with spending lots of time on the field with my teammates, I also spend lots of down time with them too. When I first started playing softball on new teams I came off as a very shy person but as I opened up to my teammates I learned that I relate to almost all of them. Now the majority of my friends are the girls I play ball with. Being part of a softball team for so many years, I can be a great role model to others, I try my best to stay positive on the field at all times. Even if the game isn't going as planned.
Playing softball puts me in my happy place and I can be completely and totally myself when I am playing the game. To be able to play softball in college would be a dream come true to me. This year, my senior year could be my last year playing softball and I would do anything to be able to continue to play.
