Personal Statement
When I was little , I watched my older brother play basketball. I always wanted to be better than him, basketball and softball are my passion. Playing ball on the college level is the only thing I know for sure I want to do. I also realize how few athletes go on to compete at the next level and what an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity it is.
I began playing in a co-ed basketball rec league when I was 6 years old. When I was 11 my parents helped form the very first all girls rec team in our small town of Ashford. We won our area championship that year and went on to play in State competition in Gadsden Alabama that year. That experience helped shape my love for the sport and the desire to play at the highest level of competition possible. I began playing Varsity in 8th grade and was a Varsity starter by my 9th grade season at Ashford High School.
I am open to any and all options to be able to play college ball. It may be my only opportunity to make it to college. I feel like I have the potential to become an elite player and an asset to a team. I am very coachable and look forward to maxing out my abilities with the expertise of college coaches and competition. I hope to find the right place to receive the coaching and education I need to succeed not only in sports but all aspects of life.
