Personal Statement
I started playing basketball when I was in first grade and after touching the ball for the first time I knew I wanted to be as successful as I could in this sport. My freshman year I played at Clovis West high school which is a power house for successful basketball players; although I have had the biggest growth of my basketball career when I transferred to Madera High School. The passion I have for the game has taught me the importance of work ethic, sacrifice, commitment, leadership and teamwork by having to work my way from the bottom of the totem pole to the top. These intangible skills have pushed me to become a good point guard and understand what it takes to become a student-athlete at the next level.
I am looking for a great program that will allow me to not only enjoy the athletic part of the school, in which I hope to be a part of, but also academics as well. I value the educational aspect of the school as much as the athletics because I plan on majoring in English to fulfill my dreams of becoming an editor. I believe that I have the talent to compete at the college level but also want to impact your program with my character, heart, and dedication. I want to grow as a leader and not only lead through words but also by example. I strongly believe in the expression, “Actions speak louder than words”, and as a student and fully dedicated player on and off the court, I know I have what it takes to be a beneficial factor to your program!
