Cortney Fukuda '17 Recruiting Profile

I have always been a self-motivated, focused student-athlete with aspirations to further my education and compete at the next level. Because of my dedication to academics, during my 1st semester of junior year I successfully Aced my 4 AP classes (Physics, Calculus, English, and History) in addition to third year Spanish. I have set goals to become a more dominant player on the court by making a promise to myself to increase my scoring, steals, and assists, while improving my percentages. As a point guard and occasional shooting guard, I've developed a solid court IQ, which allows me to orchestrate the game. I've learned to be one step ahead of the competition and use my strength and quickness to expose weaknesses. While my offense puts points on the board, my smothering defense will keep teams from doing the same. I'm very deceiving, because I'm soft spoken and well mannered. But once I step on the court I become an aggressive, body sacrificing beast. I always do my best and play with skill and heart. Down by 10 or up by 10, I never give up and play with intensity. I lead by example and encourage my team to always play with urgency.I know I can make a positive difference on any team. I'm determined to win at the next level.
