I have been playing organized basketball since I was five years old. I began playing at the elite level at 13 years old as a member of the Texas Lady Hawks and Flight 9 Elite in Dallas, Texas. I currently play for the Hoop Stars (Perris, CA), coached by Allen McCann and Brandy McCann, and Swift Black coached by Herb Kennison. My collegiate goals and aspirations include contributing to the success of a basketball program and earning my bachelor’s and master’s degree in physical therapy or psychology. I am extremely goal orientated and I work very hard to accomplish my goals. I am a natural leader, and I believe in leading by example in the classroom and on the basketball court. I have been recognized for my leadership ability by receiving the Rotary Club Leadership Award. I work just as hard on my academics as I do my jump shot. I have received the Athlete Academic Award, as well as remaining on the honor roll every grading cycle. I am a currently in the P.A.L.M. Academy for Health Professions at Palm Springs High School where I can gain knowledge and experience in the health professions.
My dream is to play college basketball. Integrity is important, and I want to always behave in a manner that brings positive light to my family, my team, my school, and myself. I know that I can contribute and be an asset to any women’s basketball program. I am in the gym early and I stay late. I work hard in gym and in the weight room all year round, and I do not wait for my coach to tell me to work out. My hard work has allowed me to be awarded the 2013-2014 Varsity basketball MVP and First Team All District honors as a Sophomore. Currently as a Junior, I have been selected to the 2014 Cajon All Tournament team and the Riverside Poly (MaxPreps) All Tournament Team. I lead the Desert Valley League in scoring, and I am listed in the top five in rebounds, blocks, and steals. I have strong ball handling skills and I am able to play every position. I know that in order to achieve my goal of playing college basketball it is going to take hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. I am a coachable player. I listen to my coach and I do what is asked of me. I believe God has blessed me with the talent and ability to be an elite athlete, and in honoring him, it is my belief that I should always work hard to enhance my gift. I am a hard worker, and I love the game of basketball.
