Hannah Herness '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 15-year old Sophomore from Beaumont, CA.  As a Freshman I made Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Basketball at Aquinas High School, San Bernardino. I play center for my high school and club basketball teams. I am 6’0”, I weigh 125 pounds, and I have a wingspan of  6’0”.  Last season, as one of the only Freshmen on my high school team, I am proud to say that I played at least 10-15 minutes in every game and we were 16-4 overall.  We also went undefeated in League last year.  My defensive plays, quick speed, coachability, and player intuition are assets that my coaches admire.  I was honored to win the Rookie of the Year Award for my High School Varsity Basketball team!  This year I have become the starting center post and play three quarters of every game on average.  I am still a coachable and quick player, but I have also strengthened my rebounding and defensive skills.  My offensive game is still coming but I am working hard to improve my skills.

I wish to attend a college where I can find the right balance between the court and the classroom. I have a weighted GPA of 4.57 and take mostly Honors and AP classes.  I hope to go into the field of Architecture/Engineering, so my dream would be to join an institution with a strong focus in those areas, as well as a competitive sports program.
