Isabella Marquez '18 Recruiting Profile

    Going to college has always been an important ambition of mine.  For me, college would not feel right if I were not playing basketball. I have been playing since I was a little girl and I have developed too much love for the game to stop after high school. Playing at the next level is something I have always had the commitment and drive for. I know I have the talent and work ethic to succeed.

    Other teammates and coaches would describe me as hungry to be the best. As a player I am very coachable and you never have to tell me twice to put in extra work or to give the utmost effort. I have a great deal of passion for basketball, so everything I do, I put my heart into because this game is my future. I know how to have fun while playing, so learning is made enjoyable. My strengths as a player are being able to make the smartest decisions, being able to see the whole court and shooting under pressure. Defensively I am very disruptive, I am always talking and I know how to anticipate enough for the steal.

    I am very competitive as a player and more importantly, a student. My ideal program would be where academics are just as valued as athletics. In college I am a student first and a basketball player second.  I am looking for coaches who push me not only to be a better player but a better student. Academically I have always been able to earn a 4.0 or higher. I stay on top of all of my work while also finding time to better my game. I have been in the Top 25 (top 4% of my class) all three years so far. I challenge myself with honors and advanced placement classes to give myself a boost against the competition.
