I practiced/played with both JV and Varsity during my sophomore season. Our MPHS Lady Panthers JV only lost one game during my sophomore season and I remained with the Varsity when I completed my JV season. We participated in State.
Over Spring Break 2013, we attended Friends University (KCAC) where my older sister, Morgan Milstead plays softball. My twin sister, (Mallory) and I got to visit with three to four colleges of different sizes and speak with coaches regarding their basketball programs. I got an early start so that I could weigh the pros and cons and have a better idea of what I want my college campus size and experience to be when it is time to decide.
My twin sister and I have always been very competitive in many areas of our lives from the classroom, to the court, to the track. We attended the Baylor University summer camp over the summer of 2013 while staying with our grandparents. We stayed overnight on campus and were able to meet and play with the team. We had an amazing time and did really well. We do plan to attend more camps this upcoming summer and will be returning to Baylor for camp.
What makes me different from other athletes is my speed and passes. I am very quick. I am asked often not to pass so hard or to slow down. With my twin, if she is on the court with me, we're always there and have each others back. It is a bit frustrating to have to slow down. I love the hustle and aggressive play. One of the easiest wins is to out hustle your opposing team and having track beneath my belt makes it easier and keeps me in shape to do that job. My sister and I are a bit more competitive than many of our team mates because we want to play at college level. Many compliment us on our quick plays, assists, and points scored. We do additional work outside our team practices to improve our skills. We will be playing on a club team for the summer 2015 in the Denver area. Our practices begin April 2015 and first tournament is April 12-13 in Thornton, CO.
