I began playing basketball in second grade and it eventually became by far my biggest passion at around 11 years old. I loved basketball so much, that as early as middle school, I began dreading the end of my playing career. I knew I did not want my basketball career to end after I graduate High School and I knew the only way to avoid that is to compete at the college level. That has been one of my primary goals in life since.
I work constantly and don't really have an offseason. I have attended multiple team and player camps for several colleges as well as PGC. I have developed a good shot from both the outside and mid range and I have a high basketball IQ, which helps me be a strong passer. I study the game and spend hours watching weekly in addition to my practice and playing schedule. I try to be encouraging to my teammates, and while our captains are determined by seniority, I am constantly providing input and see myself as a floor general despite not being the most vocal person.
I am a very hard worker in the classroom and I have made the honor roll every semester in high school. I help with youth basketball camps and assist with coaching youth basketball in my spare time. I am willing to put in time both on my own and with coaches when possible. I have been playing for an AAU team since I was in 6th grade. I began running track my freshman year to improve my speed and agility for basketball and became a district champion as a Freshman. I have done Cross Fit training and I began seriously lifting weights at 15 to improve my strength and conditioning as this was a goal of both mine and my coaches. I have made drastic improvements in the weight room as a result.
I would like to attend a college where I can play basketball and focus on Science as my long-term goal is to go to medical school and eventually become an Anesthesiologist. In addition, I want to play at a school that competes at a high level and is focused on pushing me to be the best player I can be. I am open to any situation that can provide these. I just want to be the best, most successful basketball player, student and person I can be and I know I am capable of competing and excelling at the next level in the right situation.
