Personal Statement
My name is Tatum Peterson. I am a 6’ 1” forward from Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I have played basketball since first grade and basketball has been a significant part of my life. It has allowed me to develop a sense of leadership, responsibility and love for the game.
As a sophomore at Glenwood Springs High School, I led my varsity basketball team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. At the end of the 4A Western Slope League 2015-2016 season, I was named an All-League Honorable Mention and I led the league in blocked shots and was 4th in rebounding.
Last spring, I was selected to the Western Slope U15 Premier basketball team. I led that team in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots. During the season, I was named player of the week for all of the Premier boys and girls basketball teams in Colorado.
I recently completed my Junior season in which I was named to the first team All-League Team. I led the league in rebounding (9.7/game) and double-doubles (11). I was also third in scoring (13.9/game) and third in blocked shots (1.6/game).
I believe that I would be a great asset to a basketball program. I am a team player that is hardworking, unselfish and a leader on the court. I am always striving to improve my game and do whatever it takes for my team to succeed.
I’m also proud of my academic accomplishments which includes a 3.72 GPA. I have been named to the Honor Roll for my freshmen and sophomore years and the first semester of my junior year. I have been selected to the National Honor Society. In addition, I am on student council, yearbook committee and link crew at Glenwood Springs High School.
