Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to play basketball for a highly selective academic school and graduate with a degree in biological sciences. I understand the benefits and long term advantages of being a student-athlete and look forward to the many experiences that go with it. Balancing basketball with academics is something I have been preparing for and I thrive in this environment.
My strong work ethic both on and off the court, strong time management skills, and my ability to lead, makes me a good candidate for any team. I see myself being different from other recruits because I have good instincts and game awareness. That is a skill that is difficult to teach.
When it comes to athletics, I am determined to work past 100% and I never give up. I have the ability to keep my composure in tough situations. I can score in a multitude of ways, have a quick release, can hit the mid-range shot with accuracy, and can shoot the free throw and 3 point shot very consistently.
Academically, I am different because I have a 4.4 GPA. I am enrolled in the AICE ( Advanced International Certificate of Education) program at Fleming Island High School. This academically rigorous program is preparing me for college and I am always working hard to expand my knowledge in other ways.
