Personal Statement
My name is Natalie Carter, and I am a Senior at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. I have started on the varsity basketball team as both a shooting guard and a point guard since sophomore year. I now want to advance in my basketball career and move on to the collegiate level.
I started playing basketball in 7th grade but I knew as soon as I stepped on the court I was home. Basketball has been my passion ever since then. I honestly don't know what I would do if I didn't have basketball. I love the atmosphere and all the hard work and dedication you have to put in so you can be at your best on game day.
Being a leader on and off the court is a very important quality to me. Knowing that I am someone people can look up to and someone teammates can look to on the court is my priority. Also being a leader is listening to the coach and having your teammates carry out what the coach wants. The reason I want to play at a collegiate level is I have a deep passion for the game. I work 24/7 to improve my game to prepare my self for game day. I believe in teamwork. You must have a team that supports each other even when they aren't doing their bests. The confidence you get when your team is behind your back no matter what is a feeling you need in order to perform at your highest. Not one person wins games, teams win games. I always play with respect, Wether it is for the opposing team or the officials.
I work really hard in school to keep my GPA high even during basketball season. I take honors and AP classes to challenge my self in the classroom. I also challenge my self in the gym by training with boys and practicing my shooting every other day out of the week. I work hard and give 110% in whatever I do.
