Paea Tafea '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, My name is Paea Tafea and I am currently a Senior at Kapaa High School. I've always dreamed of playing at a collegiate level whether it be in Basketball or volleyball or even both.  With dedication, ambition, and focus, I have done well in the classroom and also on the court. My work ethic is based upon how I was raised and my motivation is no doubt my Family. Since my Freshman year, I have been an Honorable Mention in the Hawaii State Tournament every year, earning Most Valuable Player in Winter of 2013-2014, named to the KIF All Star Team for both Girls Basketball and Volleyball in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, Player of the Year 2016, and also making the Division 2 All-Star State 2nd Team.  Also, my basketball team placed 5th in the Hawaii State Tournament of 2014-2015.  

What makes me a good candidate for any collegiate team is that I am a well-rounded student-athlete with a solid foundation in fundamentals.  I am very coach-able, and I am willing to take on any challenges as well as opportunities that come my way. I am always prepared to motivate my teammates on and off the court so that we all become successful together. Everything that I hope to become is all because those around me who have encouraged me to be the best I can be. Therefore, my goal is to always perform at my best and make it big, not only for myself, but for my family and everyone else who believed that I could do it.  

What I differ from other recruits would be my work ethic. I work and train with the mindset to never be satisfied because no matter how far Ive gotten, there is always room for improvement. Playing sports have kept my mind focused on what needs to be done in order to do what I want. I am always open to explore opportunities and I plan to continue to work hard to improve not only my athletic abilities, but more importantly to expand my education. I want to continue to play basketball to the highest level possible.
