I began playing basketball the Summer of my freshman year, I saw how much work I had to do compared to my teammates, who had many more years of experience than me. I was new to sports and all the people I had been playing with were 3 or 4 year Varsity players. It's crazy how much I disliked sports, specifically basketball, but I started to become more serious about playing competitively once I realized how much potential I have, and I later fell in love with the game. I began going to basketball camps and clinics over the summer, to help me gain more skill as a player. My biggest advantage over most people that I play against is my height. I would say my best skills are blocking shots and defense. In the classroom I do my best in all my classes to make sure that my grades are acceptable enough to continue playing basketball for my high school team. My mental strength has done nothing but increase since I became an athlete, and I hope to find and qualify to play at the next level.
