Personal Statement

I recently started playing basketball when I was in 6th grade, my love for the game got stronger and stronger each and every time I stepped and the hardwood floor. I moved to Fort Hall, Idaho in 2014. I played at Shoshone Bannock High School most of my freshman year, I was starting varsity, I averaged 18 points per game. My coach and I believed that I was able to run every position on the court. My most favorite position to play is power forward or center, I believe I'm best playing those positions. I was listed 3rd in the Idaho State Journal for one of the "players to watch". My last tournament I played with the Lady Chiefs was at Jackpot, Nevada. Me and my team had made it to championship, I averaged 18 points on all the games I've played at the tournament. We ended up taking home 2nd place it was the first trophy Lady Chiefs have won in about 8 years or so that was the last and final game I played with the Lady Chiefs. I wasn't able to finish out the season or play districts with them. I just didn't work hard in basketball, I work hard in school. My parents always told me you were a student before you are an athlete. I had a 3.9 grade point average, I was selected for Student of the month, I had won 1st place in essay contests through out the school. I moved back to Ethete, Wyoming with my mother Charlene Aragon because of my living situation in Idaho wasn't working out with my father. I am now attending Wyoming Indian High School. I had not chosen to play basketball here without a hardship to play Varsity. So I made my choice to just continue playing basketball next year for my sophomore year at a new high school I want to attend which is St. Stephens High School, or Lander Valley High School. I'm already taking Sophomore classes here at Wyoming Indian, I' m really wanting to graduate my Junior year. But I'm more focused on just going to college, I' m really excited to see what my sophomore year brings. I am on a traveling team every summer that travels around Wyoming. When next years basketball season comes around I'm going to be prepared, and ready to work hard to try and get a full ride scholarship to play Women's College Basketball. I want to start early on trying to earn such an amazing goal like that. I think College coaches would love to have me play for them, I am such a hard worker I keep working until I get what my goal was set to be it has always been my dream to play college basketball and be able to attend a college, I would be first in my family to be able to reach such a goal, and the path that I am on now I believe I can receive that goal. I would love to make my mother proud and give my family such an honor. It will be great if Coaches could help me receive my goal in any way they could.
