Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball for nine years. During high school I floated from JV to Varsity my freshman year and started Varsity my sophomore and junior year. Over the past couple of years I have grown to love the defensive part of basketball. All the years I have played basketball at my high school, we have made it to the state tournament. Through those experiences I have learned how to communicate in an effective manner and to never give up. I have also learned that in order to be successful, you have to love and enjoy the game you are playing. One of the most important skills I have learned throughout my high school career is how to be a leader. This past season I had the honor of being captain of the varsity basketball team. I have a dynamic personality and am very vocal. Through the three years of high school basketball, I have experienced the pain of battling sports related injuries which has taught me perseverance. Because of this experience, my passion for the game, and dedication to this sport, I earned the opportunity to play on varsity my entire high school career.
After high school I would like to become a physical therapy assistant. After receiving my PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) degree I would like to go back to school and become an ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer) as well as a MT (Massage Therapist). I aspire to attend a school that can challenge me both athletically and academically because I strive for success. Failure is never an option. I have confidence that no matter what team I play for I can be a great asset. I believe that my coach-ability, enthusiastic attitude, and willingness to work can and will add value to any team.
