I have aspired to play college basketball almost since the beginning of my career. I am someone who always puts in the extra effort to better myself and to make sure I am the best competitor I can be. I am constantly trying to improve my game and not always is it basketball related. For example, I play golf to practice patience and practice playing under pressure. I play basketball 10 out of 12 months of the year between my high school team and AAU team. I am a very committed player who is willing to do whatever it takes to help my team be successful. I am a true team player who just loves the game of basketball and who would do anything for the chance to continue my career at the collegiate level.
Additionally, I am committed to my work outside the gym. Currently I am ranked number five in my high school class and to this point I have taken every honors course available to me. I am involved in many groups including Student Council, Key Club, Ambassadors, Student Hunger Drive, National Honors Society, and Sigma Alpha Delta for which I hold the secretary position. I am on track to graduate with service honors which entails completing 160 hours of service over the four years of high school. Every year I complete 40 hours of service at minimum. Some examples of my service include the Student Hunger Drive, Coaching youth basketball, and a program known as Peer Justice.
I think it is fair to say I am a well-rounded individual who is dedicated to success. My passion is hard work and that is why I am searching for an opportunity to continue my basketball career as well as earn a valuable degree.
