Personal Statement
My name is Tawny Tucci. I am 5'7", 120 lbs. I am a 4 year high school varsity player and 2 year starter (I transferred schools in my junior year). I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old and basketball is the only sport I play. In grade school my team won 36 straight games and 3 straight championships in the Chicago Big West Catholic League. My sophomore year, my high school team came in 3rd in the state. In my junior year, my AAU team won the Illinois State Championship and my high school team won conference for the first time in 18 years where I was the starting 2 guard. This year as a senior I am the starting point guard and team captain of my high school team. We also just won conference this year as well for the second year in a row. I play basketball 11 months out of the year and have had extensive off season training that includes Point Guard College, Attack Athletics, Strictly Shooting and Explosion Conditioning at the Chicago Bulls Academy in Lisle, IL. I believe I am a very skilled player with very strong handles and have something that most girl basketball players don't have -- a "jump shot". I have always worked very hard to be the best that I can be. I am a true student of the game and strongly believe I am a very coachable player who is always willing to work hard and learn. In addition to my basketball career, I am also a straight A student and member of the National Honor Society. I am looking to be a pre-med major in college and also look forward to playing college basketball where I have the best opportunity to further both my academic and athletic careers.
