Personal Statement
I am a 5'10 Senior and attend Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana. I have played AAU for the past 8 years. For the past 9 years I have worked with my personal trainer Troy Sowders trying to make my dream of playing basketball at the next level come reality.
My primary position on the court is a forward, though I feel comfortable playing any position. I feel that my game is strong on both ends of the basketball court. Being a teammate is one of my favorite things about playing basketball, I am always looking to make my teammates better, and to give encouragement as a leader.
When considering where I would like to attend college, size and location are the least of my priorities. They must first and foremost offer a degree in education, and secondly have a womens basketball program. Once I complete college I would like to teach and coach a womens basketball team. Over the years as I have done my basketball training at the local YMCA, I have had the opportunity to see many kids and young adults with special needs enjoy the game of basketball. I have often admired the passion they show for the game, and one day I would love to share my love for the game with them. Another big dream of mine would be to work with the Special Olympics.
