Personal Statement

I am a student-athlete that has an ultimate desire to be an important part of a well established collegiate basketball team as a scholarship player. I have equally dedicated myself to working diligently to achieve success in the classroom as well as on the court. I have so far maintained no lower than a 3.7/4.0 GPA while also committing to several days/hours per week of my personal time (outside of formal practices etc.) working on improving and training my basketball skill.  As a daughter of a Head high school basketball coach, I have had the opportunity to not only acquire a good basketball IQ, but I also learned the importance of being a great teammate, being coachable, maintaining great character and positive attitude. I pride myself and feel that my greatest strength, outside of actually playing the game, is being a GREAT teammate. I genuinely support my teammates and I feel as though I provide great leadership, which is very important to me, being a point guard.

It important for the school that may recruit me to know, that if I am selected to become a part of their program, they are getting a person that  has goals of completing my collegiate educational program. Also, they are getting a player that "Gets it", I understand how important it is to learn and work toward making the coach's vision successful, because I believe that when this happens, the team will also be successful . I am a winner, winning is important to me and I believe that my spirit of winning  will only help the program. This, along with my nature, is why I will  be known as one of the team's hardest and most dedicated workers.
