Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Taylor Pepperworth. I am a 2018 guard recruit. My aspirations and goals have always been to play college basketball ever since I fell in love with the game at a young age. I've been playing AAU basketball for five years. My desires are to always challenge myself, improve, and grow in all areas of my game and life. I have learned many skills, such as leadership, and am learning what it takes to get to the next level. I want to be the best player, leader, and role model I can be. My goals and dreams are to play at a high competitive college level. Integrity and character are two traits that are important to me. I want to carry myself on and off of the basketball court in a way my parents will be proud of. I am very coachable and I am open minded.
Finding a team with a good family atmosphere, team values, and integrity is important to me. As a competitive player, I am searching for a college that could use my abilities to help build a successful program or go into a successful program and help continue their tradition of success.
When I get to college I want to continue to improve and strengthen my game in all areas and excel at the highest levels. I am looking for an overall college experience that will help me continue to push myself to accomplish my goals and to develop as a person and a leader. Basketball is a huge part of my college decision, however not the only factor - academics also play a huge role. I want a well-rounded education and to have as many opportunities as possible to grow and experience regarding my field of study. I will cherish the relationships, knowledge, and memories I build in college to make a difference in the world, as a leader, role model, and powerful young adult.
I would be a good candidate for your team because I understand the importance how to be a good teammate. A good teammate is selflessness, is humble, is a hard worker, works with determination, and supports their teammates. I focus my life around God, determined to improve myself physically and mentally and continue to give back to my community with volunteerism.
