Personal Statement
I started playing basketball when I was five years old and I have been playing ever since. I have loved the game from day one. I always have fun when I am playing the game. The greater the challenge the more fun I have. I always try to make the best out of every situation, on and off the court. One of my former coaches called me a blue-collar type of player. Basketball has shown me the great quality of teamwork. A team can overcome just about any situation if they all work together.
I participate in track and I am pretty successful. I throw the javelin and I also run the 800m and the 1600m. I have always placed in the top three in each event at the Three Rivers League meet. I have made it to State every year in at least one event. At the 2016 state track meet I finished eighth in the 800m and 1600m. Track has taught me that you just have to keep pushing yourself to get better and never be satisfied.
One other activity I do besides sports is 4-H. I have been in 4-H since I was seven, but I have been involved in open class shows since I was big enough to drag a goat around. I have held an office in my club the past four years. Being in 4-H has definitely made me a stronger, more responsible person, and a better leader.
