Kaylee Mathis '20 Recruiting Profile

Basketball is my passion.  I have been playing since kindergarten.  I have always been around the sport, since my dad was a coach and my older sister was playing.  I have always played against older kids.  I have been a member of the varsity high school team since 5th grade and have been a starter since 7th grade.  As I enter my freshman year of high school, I have scored 686 career points.

Although basketball is my passion, I understand that academics is of the highest priority.  I have managed a 4.0 throughout my school years.   My plans are to enter the medical field and eventually attend dental school.

How could I give a personal statement and not mention my savior, Jesus Christ?  He, along with my family, is the person that has helped to mold me into the person that I am. 

As I end, I challenge you to ask anyone what kind of teammate that I am.  I work hard and expect everyone else to follow.    I have always been a leader on my teams, even though I am usually younger than everyone else.   For example, I lead the team in prayer at mid court before every game.
