My name is Kristalyn Baisden, I am from East Hartford Connecticut. I am currently in the 9th grade and attending the Berkshire School, a preparatory school located in Sheffield, Massachusetts. I am currently 5"8 and weigh 130 pounds. My primary position is shooting guard, I can also play point guard when needed. I view myself as a very level headed player; I never get too high or too low as I know the flow of a game can go up and down. I am a good defending in man to man or zone. I understand defensive rotations depending on what type of zone is being played. I also understand the concepts of help man to man defense. Offensively I would say my best skill is shooting. I have always shot around 40 percent from 3point range on all levels I have played. I played U-15 with the Connecticut Lady Blazers as an 8th grader. I am among the top three point shooters in the organization U-14 through U16. I believe I have a high basketball IQ and do not try to force things on the floor. I think I am a great team player. It is also a goal of mine to work hard both in the classroom and on the court my four years at Berkshire to be able to play at the highest level of competition in college. I hope to attend a university that offers great opportunities academically as well as athletically. I have completed my first varsity season at Berkshire. I led the team in assists (78), was 2nd in rebounding (95), 1st in steals (55) and 3rd in scoring 11.1ppg. I also led the team in 3 pointers made (52), shooting 36% from 3 point range. Our season ended with a lost in the semi-final round of the NEPSAC Class B playoffs. Playing my first high school varsity season was definitely a learning experience and I am looking forward to next season.

I was also selected as a member of the 2012 Preps All-Scholastic Team -
I have also uploaded my report card for my 3rd quarter at Berkshire. My GPA for the 3rd quarter was 3.75.
I recently competed in my first AAU tournament of the 2012 season at the Bluechip Preseason Challenge April 20-22 in Virgina. Highlights from some of my games can be viewed in the video section of my profile. My season schedule has also been uploaded.
I plan on continuing to work hard in the classroom and on the basketball court. I will be taking some courses over the summer to prepare me for the PSAT in October. I will also be participating in strength and conditioning training this summer at Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT.
