Personal Statement
From my stats you can see that in my freshman and sophomore years I have been part of a team that has won the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Championship twice and that this year I have been the leading 3 point shooter in both Western and Central Massachusetts with 62 shots made. However, what my stats don't show are the two State Championships we lost those same two years. Defeat has motivated and taught me more than winning. I have become stronger as a player and as a person. I've learned to fight even harder for what I want, on and off the court.
What I love most about playing basketball are the things that don't necessarily show up in newspapers or stats. Passing, making great plays, no one player more important than the others, everyone on the court or the bench working together, adding energy and support. Talent and heart make winning teams, and along with great coaching, are what have made my high school team so successful.
When it comes to choosing a college, I'm looking for a college program where the "fit" is mutual, where I can both contribute and grow as a player and as a student.
